As a global design leader Kap has played a major role in driving the Hospitality/Mixed-use and Aviation and Transportation sectors forward. His influential work merges architecture, sustainability, and urbanism in harmony to create new global paradigms that reconsider the possibilities of the built environment. Kap believes in idea-driven design that is contextual and significant, beginning with extensive research on each project to identify the site and the culture within which it will exist. Drawing upon input from clients and the entire project team, Kap designs from the inside out.
For over 25 years prior to joining MVE, Kap worked for Gensler Architects where he served as a Partner and Principal/Studio Director responsible for leading and overseeing a large studio of multi-disciplinary teams of professionals. In addition, he served as Design Director for Gensler’s Southwest region during which he oversaw many noteworthy projects including the iconic 54-story tower for the Ritz Carlton Residences and JW Marriott at LA LIVE in downtown Los Angeles; the Denver International Airport, South Terminal Redevelopment, Westin Hotel and Transit Center; the San Diego International Airport Terminal 2 Expansion; and the Shore Hotel in Santa Monica.
